History

In 1978, Linel was an early entrant in the commercial skylight business. With a commitment to excellent design and expert craftsmanship, Linel emerged as a leading manufacturer of commercial skylights.

Robert B. Sloan and a small group of investors acquired the assets of Linel in 1996, and he began leading Linel as President of the company. Under this new leadership, the business expanded beyond commercial skylights into other architectural products. These new products now account for 40-60% of the company's revenue.

Product expansion sparked the growth of Linel's manufacturing capabilities. In 2001, Linel installed an EPA compliant paint line. Linel is uniquely positioned to offer customers a reliable in-house source for a variety of standard and custom finishes, while increasing quality control and reducing project lead times.

Mestek, Inc. purchased the assets of Linel in 2012, with Robert Sloan remaining as the company's President. The Mestek family of companies manufactures a wide variety of products, with an emphasis on expert engineering and annual sales revenue of over $370 million. Linel joined American Warming & Ventilating (AWV) to form the architectural products division of Mestek, striving to beautify structures and improve building performance through Intelligent Envelopes™.
